Keep the Midlands Beautiful will be hosting its sixth annual Lake Murray cleanup on Sept. 14 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

The organization is seeking volunteers to help clean islands, shorelines, boat ramps and roads in and around Lake Murray, the press release read.

The cleanup will start from three different locations: Southshore Marina in Leesville, Catfish Johnny’s Rusty Anchor Restaurants in Chapin and Dreher Island State Park in Prosperity.

SCDNR and the Coast Guard Auxiliary will be on hand to help ensure safety. Volunteers will also receive a safety orientation, an event t-shirt, a thank you gift as well as an opportunity to win prizes from various local businesses.

Volunteers are required to register online by Sept. 6 at https:// keepthemidlandsbeautiful.org/.
