A $21 million investment is set to create 23 new jobs in Lexington County.
The Germany-based internal decor printing company Schattdecor announced plans Wednesday to expand its operations in at 138 Zenker Rd. in Lexington, including “a new production line and mixing plant to accommodate more capacity due to increased demand,” according to a press release from the state Department of Commerce.
“Schattdecor is proud to announce the expansion at our Lexington facility as we grow to meet global demand,” Schattdecor President Flavio Nunes is quoted. “The positive manufacturing environment in South Carolina motivated Schattdecor to focus our development efforts in North America toward Lexington. We are excited to be part of this community and look forward to a long future of further investment and cooperation.”

“Today’s announcement is a big win for Lexington County and all of South Carolina,” Gov. Henry McMaster is quoted. “Schattdecor’s expansion proves that South Carolina is a place for international businesses to find continued success. We look forward to supporting them as they continue to grow.”
According to Schattdecor's website, the Lexington location currently has about 40 employees. The company has another U.S. operation in Maryland Heights, Missouri (about 20 miles from St. Louis).
The Lexington-based US Coating Company was acquired by the Schattdecor Group in 2019 and was rebranded as an arm of Schattdecor in December 2020. At that time, the company announced that it was merging operations in Lexington and Maryland Heights.
