Lexington One approves staff, one termination

Posted

Lexington County School District One approved 24 certified staff members for the upcoming school year at a board meeting Tuesday morning at Lexington High School. The board of trustees approved the employees after exiting executive session.
Additionally, the board also terminated one professional employee regarding a personnel matter. At this time, additional information cannot be provided, according to Megan Moore, communications director.
The board also approved science and social studies instructional materials as approved by the adoptions committee. The instructional materials were provided thanks to leftover funding from English language arts.
The next board meeting is scheduled for Aug. 20 after the school year has started. The first day of school is Aug. 7 for students.
