West Columbia's Art on State Event, Previously Postponed, Is Canceled

Posted

After being postponed from May 6 to May 13 due to inclement weather, tonight’s Art on State street festival in West Columbia is now canceled for the same reason.

The night edition of the city’s weekly Meeting Street Artisan Market, set to coincide with the festivities on State Street in the River District, is also canceled, as is the Litter Pickup Day set for Saturday.

Per a release from the city, the returning annual event was intended to provide an opportunity for attendees to “socialize with friends and family, shop at the locally-owned shops, and pick up handmade items from a vendor at the market.”

Popular local band Seventy Six and Sunny was slated to perform as artists painted live in the street.

West Columbia successfully hosted the return of its Kinetic Derby Day race and street festival last month after two years canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
