Great Southern Homes has bought 41.6 acres on Zenker Road in Lexington for a 104-home residential community, Brookstone.

Home prices will range from the high $100s to mid-high $200s.

Great Southern Homes has bought 41.6 acres on Zenker Road in Lexington for a 104-home residential community, Brookstone.

Home prices will range from the high $100s to mid-high $200s.

Southern Visions Real Estate handled the purchase. Commercial broker Walker Cate represented the seller, B&T Investments.

A closing price was not disclosed. Preparatory site work will begin immediately.

New farmers program

Clemson Univerty Cooperative Extension in Lexington is offering new farmers a comprehensive training in agribusiness.

The SC New and Beginning Farmer Program is accepting applications through July 15 for the statewide program to educate farmers with less than 10 years experience in the industry.

The average age for farmers in SC is 59. This program hopes to encourage younger generations to keep farming alive.

$400K in scholarships

Central Carolina Community Foundation has awarded over $400,000 in scholarships this year.

33 scholarships went to students in Lexington County.

Scholarships will go to some of the most outstanding students in SC and across the country for the 2018-’19 school year.

Each scholarship has its own specific purpose and eligibility criteria according to | the recommendations of the donor. Many of the funds have been established as testaments to the donor’s passion for education and rewards students for their hard work.

“Look Good, Feel Better”

The Look Good, Feel Better program through the American Cancer Society assists people suffering from hair loss due to cancer treatments.

They provide high-quality products and care to men, women and children across SC, NC, and Georgia.

Free Enterprise Program

Midlands Technical College will host the Free Enterprise Leadership Challenge at its Beltline Campus June 18-22.
