The 2-sport Clemson University signee, 2020 Lexington Chronicle Football Player of the Year and Major League Baseball prospect (A recent ESPN mock draft has Taylor selected 20th overall by the New York Yankees), Taylor was named the SC Baseball Coaches Association’s Co-Player of the Year for all classifications. The longtime Indians’ head coach led them to a 24-8 overall record and the Class 3A title. It was the 4th state title won at the state for Burnett, whose also a member of the 500-victory club. He was presented a commemorative state championship bat by Lexington County Blowfish co-owner Bill Shanahan on June 9 on a day the team was recognized at Lexington County Baseball Stadium.
