One of the Chronicle’s own has received an honor for his dedication to the community.

Jay Martin, a former Chronicle newspaper delivery driver, has been honored by the Lexington Sertoma Club for 38 years of service.

He received the Service Appreciation plaque April 5 by club president Matt Quinton.

Martin has been a longtime member of Sertoma in Lexington and Myrtle Beach and received accolades from Quinton for 23 years of service here and his role in the annual golf tournament.

Martin and his wife will soon be leaving Lexington for Valencia, Pa., to join their daughter and her family there.
