The NFL will have to make room Thursday night for high school football.
The possibility of Hurricane Ian arriving through South Carolina has resulted in the rescheduling of several Week Six high school football contests. A total of nine games involving 10 Chronicle Country teams were moved up a day as precaution due to the potential of bad weather.
The Thursday games are:
Gray Collegiate at Columbia, 6:30 p.m.
Batesburg-Leesville at Strom Thurmond, 7 p.m. (on radio via 1430 AM)
Gilbert at Lower Richland, 7 p.m.
Lexington at Chapin, 7 p.m.
Pelion at Saluda, 7 p.m.
River Bluff at White Knoll, 7 p.m. (watchable via Spectrum channel 1250 or wach.com)
W.W. King Academy at Newberry Academy, 7 p.m.
Irmo at Richland Northeast, 7:30 p.m.
Swansea at Dreher, 7:30 p.m.
Lexington County School District 2 schools Brookland-Cayce and Airport are expected to learn the status of their respective games Tuesday morning. The Bearcats are scheduled to travel to Orangeburg-Wilkinson, while Airport plays host to Aiken.
