A letter to Generation Z

Everything seems so fragile today. Fragility can be a strength.

The great speaker Chris Haggerty said “the great strength of the professional speakers lay in their ability to show their vulnerability.”

Why is it that everyone is so fragile today? It is not just about the Gen Z snowflakes that cannot seem to make sense of anything.

Fragility does not have to be a bad thing. In fact, many have observed that the fragility of life is how you discover your true inner strength. Life can be delicate, especially if you take it too seriously. No one is guaranteed a tomorrow so use today as if it’s your last and one day you will be right.

SINCE LIFE is so brief, perhaps it is necessary to break some rules. Mark Twain observed, “Forgive quickly, kiss slowly, love truly, laugh uncontrollably and never regret anything that makes you smile.”

,A broken heart is not unlike shattered crystal or damaged dreams. All are fragile.

Do not allow anyone to destroy you. They cannot do anything to you that you do not permit them to do. The educated among us respect the im

The educated among us respect the importance of fragility in others. We see it as a precious asset that we may not possess.

Fragility can have similar characteristics to the essential beauty we see in others. The most delicate things in the world hang in gentle balance, much like a bird that perches on a precarious twig.

Much of the fragility that hovers over the minds of Generation Z is in the possession of the messenger, not the message. If people blindly follow those with dark hearts, their trust is rewarded with enslavement to the ideas they find appealing.

I hope Gen Z’s will eventually grow up and act their age. The snowflake generation has been sheltered and not challenged. They want you to handle them with care, so you do not actually break the ones who are too unstable for their own good.

EVERY GENERATION wants its children to have it better than they had it. It is human nature to want the best for our children but at what expense to their future when we are no longer around to fight their fights?

Sometimes we confuse fragility with grace. Grace is treating yourself and others with respect. It is not a sign of weakness.

Conversely, demanding something because it is your “God given right” (by your own definition) shows a lack of respect. That is where most Gen Z’s lose their way.

The Gen Z gang is bullying others. Effectively, they say to their silent opposition “We will make it so miserable for you to confront us that you will simply back off.”

How does the silent opposition regain its dignity and right to disagree? When they finally say,“Enough is enough.”

When people of another color take a position, it does not make them right. It makes them individuals. Respect those differences and we find respect in one’s fragility.
