Auctions are now open for the one-of-a-kind Hootie and the Blowfish-inspired baseball jerseys made for the Lexington County Blowfish.
Community members have the opportunity to bid for a chance to win the jerseys with proceeds from the auction set to benefit the Lexington Medical Center Foundation.
The Lexington Medical Center Foundation is a non-profit organization that helps the hospital achieve its mission of providing the local community with quality health services, acquiring innovative technology and enhancing hospital services.
“The Lexington Blowfish continue to be committed to helping the Lexington Medical Center Foundation lift burdens from the lives of our patients, employees and community,” said Amy Lanier, executive director of the Lexington Medical Center Foundation. “It’s exciting to be part of “Hooties” night with the Blowfish.”
The Blowfish baseball team will wear the jerseys on Friday, June, 14 against the Macon Bacon. It will be the only time the team wears the jerseys this season.
The jersey is garnet and black and features the word Hooties” printed across the chest. The Lexington County Blowfish was named after the band 18 years ago, and two of the jerseys will be autographed by all four members of the band.
Bid for the special uniforms now on the Lexington Blowfish website,goblowfishbaseball.com. Bidding is open now until 9:00 p.m. on Friday, June 14.
