Investigators with the Cayce Department of Public Safety are still actively working to identify the vehicle and driver involved in a hit and run at about 7:45 pm on Monday Nov. 2.
The attached picture is representative of the type of vehicle investigators believe struck a pedestrian and left the scene. The vehicle is possibly a 2013-2018 model year metallic blue Ford Fusion.
Anyone with information is urged to contact Lt. Jason Merrill at the Cayce Department of Public Safety at 803-794-0456. Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous can do so by contacting CRIMESTOPPERS at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
The incident occurred in the east bound lanes near of 1925 Airport Blvd. Officers were notified shortly after 8 pm, when a passing motorists observed an injured pedestrian on the shoulder of the roadway.
Investigators are reviewing video footage from local businesses and traffic cameras in the area. The involved vehicle may have damage to the right front headlamp assembly, and could possibly have a damaged bumper or hood. At this time, we are asking anyone who was in the area of Airport Blvd and I-26 around the time of the collision to reach out to investigators. We are especially interested in any dash camera footage from any vehicle driving through the area during the time surrounding the incident.
