Chronicle Country players earn MVP honors at Junior Showcase Bowl Game

The West scored a 31-10 victory over the East in the 3rd annual Schutt Junior Showcase Bowl Game sponsored by the National Guard. 

The game was played Sunday afternoon at Fort Knox on the Brookland-Cayce High School campus.

The East got on the scoreboard first on a 34-yard field goal by Coleman Franzone of James Island with 12:21 left in the first quarter.
After kicking off, the East held and marched down the field before the West's Isaiah McClary of Irmo intercepted a pass from Camden's Grayson White in the endzone. McClary was named defensive back MVP.

On its possession West, quarterback Breylon Boyd of Ridge View hit Zaivian Offord of Gray Collegiate Academy with a 75-yard strike for a touchdown to put the West up 7-3.

A 4-yard touchdown run by Jayden Singletary made it 14-3. Gray Collegiate quarterback Riley Staton next hit Avery McFadden of Hillcrest on another 75-yard catch and run to put the West up 14-3 with 1:17 left in the second quarter after J.F. Byrnes’ Jacob Coman connected on his second extra point.
To open the third quarter, Coman hit a 26-yard field goal to give the West a 24-3 lead.
On its possession, the East drove to the West's 29-yard line before Brannon Teamer of Dorman intercepted another White pass.  
The West drove the ball to the 35-yard line of the East. From that spot, Boyd hit McFadden again for the West's final touchdown.

Gilbert running back Jaden Allen-Hendrix scored on a 2-yard run with 3:16 left to close out the scoring.
