Church raises funds with yard sale

AROUND RED BANK

The Church at White Knoll is holding a fund-raiser yard sale for its children’s ministry this Saturday, May 4, starting at 8 am. It will include a large section of no-haggle “pay what you think it’s worth” items. The sale will be l at 415 Barr Rd in Lexington.

It’s not too early to start thinking about what to do with the kids this summer, and local summer camps are starting to announce information.

White Knoll Archery Camp will be held June 10-13 at the Carolina Springs Middle School gym from 9 to noon daily. Early registration fee of $20 ends May 20, after which it jumps to $60. There are only 60 spots for rising 6th graders and up. The camp will introduce the basic techniques and safety procedures and will be taught by White Knoll Archery coaches and team members, with all equipment provided. Lexington Girls’ Softball 2019 Summer Softball Camp registration is with open, an early bird rate of $40 per player until May 31, when it goes up to $45. The camp July 29-August 1, 6:30-8:30 pm. Register online at www.lgssc.com .

Vacation Bible

School at Red Bank United Methodist is June 17-21. Register online at www.kideventpro.lifeway.com/findavbs/by searching for Red Bank UMC. Everyone who registers by 5/27/2019 is guaranteed a VBS t-shirt. This year they will take a trip to Athens and learn from Paul about his dangerous trip to spread the truth about Jesus. VBS is for all rising 3 year olds (3 by 9/1/2019 and potty trained) through rising 6th graders. Dinner is provided.

Red Bank UMC will also hold Summer Camp in four weekly installments for age 2 through rising 5th graders; sessions include June 10-13 “Under The Stars,” June 24-27 “Grow With God,” July 8-11 “All God’s Creatures,” and July 22-25 “Under the Sea.” These run Monday-Thursday, 8:30 am until noon, with a snack provided.
