The Hollow Creek Community Club began its monthly meetings last week after taking the summer months off. HCCC members always look forward to September when their meetings begin. The members enjoyed seeing their friends and catching up on news.

Members who had birthdays in August and September were recognized. Happy birthday Jean Smith, Ann Lewis, Paula Miller, Rembert Amick, Nell Hair, Mary Smith, Frank Whittle, Bobbi Lowry, Dale Swygert, and Don Tinman. Members who celebrated wedding anniversaries in August and September were Timmy and Paula Koon, Dwight and Delle Price, Jimmy and Susan Lucas, WC and Paula Miller, Pat and Monroe Fulmer, and Dean and Betty Balder.

thank you to the community for purchasing popcorn from Gilbert Scout Pack 60. Last weekend the Scouts sold over $2,000 worth of popcorn at one site. Each weekend the Scouts are selling Trails End popcorn at local businesses in Gilbert. On September 25,  the Scouts will meet at the Gilbert Community Park to help clean the park, teach younger Scouts how to tie a knot, and enjoy a pizza dinner.

The “Wildcat Poker Run” now underway is a fundraiser for Boys and Girls Basketball at Gilbert High School. Students are now partnering with other schools to raise money for this event. The teams will be traveling during the Christmas break to compete in holiday tournaments. The Wildcat Poker Run will be held in October.
