COLLEGE FOOTBALL

Look for more than just scores on the South Carolina and Clemson football teams this season.

Our Gamecock and Tigers correspondents will bring weekly reports starting Aug. 22 in the Lexington County Chronicle and the Lake Murray Fish Wrapper.

ZACH LENTZ (Clemson University)

An award-winning writer, the Clemson University alumnus has spent his life around athletics. He got his start working with the Clemson basketball team from 1999-2004 under coaches Rick Barnes and Larry Shyatt.

On leaving coaching, he pursued his passion for covering sports in joining the team at WRIX 103.1 FM in Anderson as an on air-host and writing for clemson.247sports.com . Now an Orangeburg County resident, Lentz has covered high school sports, the Atlanta Braves, the Carolina Panthers, Atlanta Falcons and the University of South Carolina, the University of Georgia and ACC and SEC schools. His website mavensports.io covers Clemson sports. He can be reached at zach@clemsonmaven.io .

JUSTIN HALL (University of South Carolina)

The Airport High School graduate is already familiar to Chronicle readers for his Lexington County Blowfish “Coaches Corner” columns.

The Director of Media/Broadcasting and play-by-play broadcaster for the Blowfish, Hall graduated from the University of South Carolina in December 2017. His degree is in Mass Communications with a minor in Sports and Entertainment Management.

In the fall of 2017, he interned with GamecockCentral.com, covering each home game at Williams-Brice Stadium, writing post-game recaps on specific facets of the game. In 2018, Hall became the co-host of the “5th Quarter Post-Game Show” on WVOC (560 AM and the iHeart Radio App) with former Gamecock wide receiver Tim “Pops” Frisby.

He is a lifelong resident of Lexington County and can be reached at justin@blowfishbaseball.com .
