Irmo Fire crews along with area fire crews rescued 6 people in an Irmo apartment fire Wednesday.
Two children were dropped by their mother from the 3rd story and were caught by bystanders. 
The mother also jumped and suffered a leg injury. The mother and two children were transported by EMS.
Eight apartments were damaged by the fire and these families have been displaced. The Red Cross is on scene assisting the families.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
