Lexington School District 1 hopes to purchase 2 parcels of land for a new bus depot.
One parcel, owned by Royalty Holdings 1, LLC, contains approximately 44.27 acres. It is valued at $1,050,000, according to Lexington County tax records.
The 2nd parcel, owned by Royalty Properties, LLC, contains approximately 2.61 acres. The parcel is valued at $199,328, according to Lexington County tax records.
The district will enter into 2 separate option agreements to begin the land acquisition process. The purchase is contingent on the district purchasing both pieces of property.
“We are conducting 2 independent appraisals to determine an offer. We have 90 days to negotiate a price,” said district spokesperson Mary Beth Hill.
The bus transportation facility would serve the Lexington, River Bluff and White Knoll attendance areas. The current location serves the Lexington and River Bluff areas.
The potential purchase is part of the district’s $365 million 5-year building plan approved by voters in Nov. 2018.
