The ORS and PSC are supposed to help us, but they have to do what the legislature tells them to do and judges. People need to call or write their legislators about the way they’re taking advantage of us every way they can. They have suppressed our state. If you don’t know your reps, please call the Governor’s office for numbers 803-734-5049. It is their fault this state and its people are in such a mess. How? They have not been reading bills and are doing what someone else tells them to do. I found out our legislators voted for us to have the highest taxes next to California. We have the highest taxes in every way, but have the lowest salaries. Except for branches, commissions, and any offices politicians put friends and family in. Just wait until after elections. One in the know told me we will see taxes and fees like never before. They will be the highest since the state was created. They have allowed us to be under monopolies. Monopolies constrain themselves and are very dangerous. Not all the gasoline tax will go to highways. Like always they lie to us – who cares? They are also at fault with our utilities. Carolina Water was another increase by the PSC. In fact, in meetings I’ve attended they give most people what they want. SCE&G, SCANA, and Dominion have and will get what they want. They will keep packing their pockets with ratepayers money. When Dominion gets what they want we will not be able to pay. This is according to letters from out-of-state people that visited our Legislators. I understand if Dominion takes over, rate payers are to pay ALL debts, if not they will run. I pray people will not lose homes over trying to pay all these rates politicians are putting on us. If they do, watch who will be going to courthouses to pick up lost homes – the wealthy and politicians. We will see Dominion is not truthful. People can be misled and will be hurt in the end. The Senate, more so than the House wants Dominion to buy SCANA-SCE&G. As usual, the people have no say so. Just like the extortion put on us, which is a crime in South Carolina per Mr. Massey, Chairman of the Ratepayers Committee. Mr. Pope has also said it’s illegal in SC, statewide. How come nothing has been done?
