D’s closed its Cayce location in Parkland Plaza, May. 15. It is scheduled to open in West Columbia Tuesday.

Artist Christine Lutfy has painted a mural on the side of the new D’s.

The new D’s Wings Mural is all finished & ready for all your selfies,” Lutfy wrote on her Facebook page when she finished the D’s mural. “I can finally check off one of my goals of having a little community of murals together.”

Lutfy painted the butterfly in West Columbia’s Interactive Art Park and she painted both walls of the alleyway to State Street with kayaks, tubes, and zoo animals.

The Gervais Street Bridge and the historic storefronts of State St. are the subject matter of the D’s Wings mural.
