LEXINGTON COUNTY BLOWFISH

The Lexington County Blowfish are entering the final month of its 2020 jersey contest. Voting is taking place on social media, specifically on the Blowfish Facebook page. The winner will be announced during the team’s January 29 media luncheon at the VIP Stadium room, the 1st of their series of preseason invitation-only luncheons. The Blowfish will open the season May 28 at Lexington County Baseball Stadium against Gastonia.

Registration is underway for the 2020 Lexington County Cookout. The event will take place Feb. 9 at the Icehouse Amphitheater at 107 West Main St. The contest will recognize 15 to 20 gallon chili meals as any soup-like or stew-like food and only 1 recipe will be judged per team. The registration fee is $25 and all 4-member teams will be admitted for free. Additional team members will have to pay the admission price of $10. Children under 12 will be charged $5.
