If you’re looking for a great pumpkin for your family to eat or decorate, Red Bank United Methodist Church is offering its annual Pumpkin Patch sale, which started last weekend and runs through Oct. 31 or as long as the pumpkins last. There are all sizes from tiny to giant. If you stop by this Saturday, 10 am-noon, the Red Bank UMC Preschool teachers will be on site with paint for immediate pumpkin decorating opportunities and some fun and games for the kids while you shop. The patch is across I-20 on South Lake Drive, in the field on the left in front of Grady’s Billiards. Any questions, contact the church at 359-4031.

Is your student a 9th grader who will have completed Algebra 2 by the end of this school year? If they are interested in engineering, there is a program called “Accelerate” offered through the SC Governor’s School for Math and Science. Tonight, October 17, there will be an informational meeting about the program at Lexington Technology Center on Augusta Highway. The meeting goes from 6 until 8 pm. It is a great opportunity to find out about the program, which offers advanced instruction and multiple dual enrollment classes for college credit. I can recommend the program personally, as our own daughter is a current participant.
