The Icehouse Amphitheater, Lexington’s town-owned outdoor venue, has announced the fall lineup for its Lexington Live series.
The popular program offers free concerts on Thursday nights during the more temperate times of the year.
The series returns on Sept. 1, set to go for seven weeks and return some familiar faces to the amphitheater stage. All Lexington Live shows start at 6:30 p.m.
Some reliable and popular party bands are on the list in The Might Kicks (Sept. 1), The Hitmen (Sept. 22) and The Root Doctors (Oct. 13), who have become one of the series perennial inclusions and largest draws.
The Embers (Sept. 8), Band of Oz (Sept. 29) and The Tams (Oct. 6) offer old-school beach music and R&B vibes, while Under the Sun (Sept. 15) brings energy to its wide range of rock covers.
The series adds to what is a crowded fall for Lexington’s downtown entertainment destination.
Ever-popular Columbia band Tokyo Joe will be back to perform its Rocketman tribute to Elton John on Sept. 16 and for the second edition of its Breast Cancer Research Fundraiser on Oct. 28. Journey cover band Resurrection, which has been a big hit in Lexington, returns for a two-night stand Oct. 7 and 8. And the Rock 4 Recover Fundraiser is back on Sept. 23, with Revisiting Creedence headlining.
