The University of South Carolina baseball team had a perfect 4-0 week, coming from behind to defeat Winthrop on Feb. 19 and sweeping Utah Valley to improve to 6-1.
Pitcher Parker Coyne, 1 of 4 Gamecocks on the roster who have played for the Lexington County Blowfish, earned the win while striking out 6 and allowing 1 hit in three innings. Sawyer Bridges earned the save, going the final 2.1 innings with a strikeout.
Noah Campbell had a home run in all three games of the Utah Valley series, including a walkoff, 2-run home run in last Saturday’s 6-5 win. It was the Gamecocks’ 2nd walk-off win of the season and upped the winning streak to five games.
USC faced Appalachian State Tuesday before starting the rivalry series with Clemson (6-1) Friday at Doug Kingsmore Stadium.
