BAZAAR AND CRAFT SHOW: Oct. 5, 9 am - 2 pm at Cedar Grove Lutheran Church, 1220 Cedar Grove rd, Leesville.

Free Health Fair: Oct. 5, 10 am-2 pm at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 2491 Emanuel Church Road, West Columbia. More than 25 vendors representing a variety of health resources available in our community. Lots of free info, and you can have your blood pressure checked. For children there will be a book nook, bouncy house, craft table, and face painting. Each child may choose a book to take home. A light lunch of veggie or turkey chili provided.

Free Shred-it Event: Oct. 12, 10 am-1 pm or until truck filled at Life Springs Worship Center, 5630 Platt Springs Road, Lexington. Bring unwanted personal documents for shredding by Shred-It mobile trucks. For more info contact the church office 803-957-2221.

HOLIDAY MARKET: Oct 5, 9 am–2 pm, Lexington United Methodist Church, 309 E. Main St., Lexington. 3rd annual holiday market with 35 local artisans, bake sale, and lots of homemade goodies. Free admission. BBQ chicken with fixings, eat-in or takeout $10.

WREATHS ACROSS AMERICA: Dec. 14, noon, 11th annual wreath-laying ceremony at Fort Jackson National Cemetery, 4107 Percival Rd., Columbia. Parking will be at the Blue Cross Blue Shield parking lot at 4101 Percival Rd., across from the cemetery and you will be shuttled into the cemetery. Shuttles start at 10:30 am for general public and 9 am for volunteers. No parking in the cemetery on Saturday, but limited Handicapped parking on a first come first serve basis with proper identification. Southside Station: Oct. 11, 6 pm at Icehouse Amphitheater. This show is a fund-raiser by Lexington County Fire Services to raise money for the Jeff Chavis House. Jeff Chavis was a Lexington County Fire Fighter who lost his life in the line of work on July 12, 2001. This is a free event. This rain or shine show does not permit lawn chairs or outside food and drinks.
