Back to School Haircuts: Aug. 18, 1-5 pm at the Innovation Center, 509 Bulldog Blvd, Cayce. The Innovation Center’s salon is partnering with area barbers and stylists to offer free haircuts for the upcoming school year. Bike Rally: Aug. 24, 12-6 pm at VFW Post 8738, 424 Cedarcrest Dr., Lexington. Bike rally fundraiser to build a Memorial Walk at the VFW post. Adult bike show and judging 2-4 pm, kids bike show and judging of the patriotic bike decoration contest at 1 pm. Flag retirement ceremony at 3 pm showing the proper way to take an American Flag out of service. BBQ, hot dog plates for donations 12-6 pm. Cruise-in Fundraiser: Aug. 24, 6-9 pm at Lexington Co. Administration, 212 South Lake Drive, Lexington. On June 8 a terrible collision left Roy Hall, a K9 Deputy with Lexington County Sheriff’s Dept. seriously injured. 100% of proceeds raised go to Deputy Hall. Admission $5 per vehicle/motorcycle. Entertainment, vendors, and food available. Admission gets 2 raffle tickets for a 2 night Greenville hotel stay and steak house gift card.

Like Arrows: Aug. 25, 5 pm at Life Springs Worship Center, 5630 Platt Springs Rd, Lexington. Experience FamilyLife’s first feature film at this free movie night. The movie casts a powerful vision for parents and reminds us of the importance of God and His Word. The Youth Ministry will provide childcare for a monetary donation, and a free meal will be served after the movie.

Fashion Shows

Life Without Limits Fashion Show: Sept. 7, 2 pm at 111 Maiden Lane, Lexington. United Cerebral Palsy of South Carolina will host its first Life Without Limits Fall Fashion Show and Cocktail Reception fundraiser. DJ, hors d’ourvres, and drinks, a 50/50 drawing, and raffle. Thrivent Financial to host a back to school shoe drive to help Samaritan’s Feet provide new athletic shoes for kids returning to the classroom this fall.
