A Chronicle Country team sits atop one of the preseason S.C. High School Soccer Coaches Association rankings.
Gray Collegiate Academy opens the 2023 regular season No. 1 in Class 2A just ahead of sister school Oceanside Collegiate Academy. The War Eagles will open against Sumter Feb. 21 in the Capital City Classic.
The Lady War Eagles are sixth in Class 2A girls.
The Class 5A boys rankings has three Lexington County teams in the Top 10 in Chapin (No. 2), River Bluff (No. 5) and Lexington (No. 6). The Lady Gators and Lady Wildcats are Nos. 4 and 6, respectively.
The Class 3A rankings has Brookland-Cayce ranked No. 5 in boys and Gilbert No. 7 in girls.
