Help fellow hunters feed hungry kids

hunters for the hungry

Recent statistics tell us that 1 in 7 South Carolinians are food challenged. 1 in 5 of those are children. 48% of all SNAP recipients have children in their families.

SC Hunters for the Hungry, a 501(c)3 nonprofit that is 100% volunteers, believes we can help solve this problem. Since 2004, we have supplied over 500,000 pounds of harvested wild game in SC.

The SC Department of Natural Resources has partnered with us and asked us to expand statewide. We introduced Operation Round-Up where we asked hunters to donate all or part of their harvest through a local processor who will contact us to distribute this meat to non-profits in the state.

We are looking for volunteers in Lexington County to help us feed the needy. As a volunteer, you would be asked to:

• Educate your community about the hunger crisis and our mission.

• Contact processors and non-profits in to acquire and distribute meat.

• Raise money to reimburse processors.

• Keep records of the amount of meat and agencies served in your area.
