Help others improve their lives

You may find this hard to believe. More than 13,000 of your friends, neighbors and coworkers in Lexington and Richland Counties cannot read or write well. This is one finding of US Census Bureau research. These unfortunate people need help to master reading and writing skills to qualify for better jobs, incomes, care for their families and live fuller lives. Turning Pages adult literacy tutors work with them to improve their skills. To help cover tutoring costs, Authors for Literacy plans their annual Book Signing for Literacy party at the Lexington Public Library at 5440 Augusta Rd, Lexington 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1. Authors autograph their books to you or someone you plan to give them as a gift. Their personally autographed books make unique holiday gifts your loved ones will treasure.
