Investigators raid Juul HQ

Federal investigators concerned about teen addiction have raided a major vaping company.

The Food and Drug Administration made a surprise inspection of Juul Labs in San Francisco last week.

They said they were seeking evidence about the e-cigarette maker’s sales and marketing practices to teenagers. The addictive products have become a problem in Lexington County and elsewhere.

The FDA said it aims to combat surging youth use of e-cigarettes, particularly Juul’s flavored liquids.

Juul CEO Kevin Burns said he has released more than 50,000 pages of documents that may explain why its products appeal to youngsters.
