It’s the final week of the regular season for South Carolina American Legion teams.
All 3 Chronicle Country teams are all fighting for playoff positions. Lexington entered Wednesday’s matchup at League III leader Camden Post 79 a game out of 1st place.
It has 3 remaining league games with an exhibition contest in between against Victorian Kookaburras July 2 at Lexington County Baseball Stadium.
Also in League 3, West Columbia is tied with Aiken for 3rd place. It has 3 league games left and finishes the regular-season Tuesday against Orange-burg Post 4.
The 3rd place League III finisher faces the 3rd place team out of League 1 in a Best-of-3 series starting July 10.
Meanwhile, defending state champion Chapin-Newberry was a game behind Rock Hill for 2nd place in League IV. following Monday’s 5-3 win. The 2 teams meet again Friday at Newberry College and Post 193/24 ends season Tuesday at front-runner Fort Mill.
