Lake Murray’s 30th annual Independence Day celebration will be Saturday, June 30.
It will begin with the annual boat parade at noon and end with a spectacular fireworks show at dark.
Boat Parade participants must register their boat to join the parade and decorate their boats according to this year’s theme - “Cheers to 30 Years.”
Boats will meet at Bomb Island at noon to parade toward the Lake Murray Dam for judging.
The parade can be watched from the SCE&G park sites at the Dam, the walking path on the Lake Murray Dam and by boat.
At dusk, fireworks will launch from two lake locations, Dreher Island and Spence Island. This year’s show will last 30 minutes in honor of the event’s 30th year.
For boat parade registration info, visit LakeMurray-Country.com or call (803) 781-5940.
