ELGIN – A service to celebrate the life of Larry Richard Rabon, 74, will be held on Friday, Sept. 29 at 4 p.m. at Pine Grove Baptist Church in Lugoff with burial to follow in Lugoff First Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Pine Grove Baptist Church. Memorials may be made to South Carolina Oncology Associates Foundation.
Mr. Rabon, husband of the late Nancy Rose King Rabon, passed away on Tuesday, September 26, 2023. Born in Camden, he was the son of the late Lonnie and Ruth Neely Rabon. He earned his bachelor’s degree from North Georgia College and his master’s degree in School Administration and Supervision from Clemson University. He taught secretarial science in the Sumter County Public School System and retired as Principal from Swansea High School. Mr. Rabon was a faithful member of Oakwood Baptist Church in Lexington and attended Pine Grove Baptist Church in Lugoff with his family.
Mr. Rabon was a faithful husband for 48 years to his wife Nancy who went home to be with the Lord on September 27, 2022. He was never lacking in his commitment to provide for and nurture his 2 daughters, and his grandchildren brought him his greatest joy. Mr. Rabon was raised in a Godly home that exemplified love for one another, and he and his siblings continued this relationship until his death. He was forever grateful for all of his family.
Surviving are his daughters, Ann Rabon Redd (Gene) of Windsor, S.C. and Patti Rabon Bailey (Dustin) of Swansea, S.C.; sisters, Patricia Jean Spinks of Elgin, Brenda Gail Dabbs (Barry) of Lugoff, and Evelyn Sue Rabon of Elgin; brother, Alvin Eugene Rabon (Becky) of Lugoff; sister-in-law, Annette Rabon of Lugoff; granddaughters, Kaitlyn Patricia “KK” Redd and Abbigayle Elizabeth “Abbi” Redd; and a host of nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, David Rabon.
