The 2020 baseball season ended with a 2-game winning streak. Although the team did not win the 2nd half Southern Summer Ball Series cup, it did finish with a winning overall record of 23-13. The Blowfish did win the Lake Murray Series Cup with a 11-2 record against the Lake Murray Purple Martins and Bomb Island Bombers. The 2 teams were created as the Blowfish’s schedule was greatly affected by changes made by the Coastal Plain League as teams cancelled their respective seasons due to covid-19. The Blowfish also spent the 1st 2 weeks of the season playing without fans due to the governor’s order which prohibited them from attending spectator sports. The Lexington County Council passed a resolution on July 15 reclassifying the Blowfish as an amateur youth sports team. Once fans returned, the Blowfish rewarded them with a winning record at home.
