One Lexington County resident has been arrested on child sex abuse material charges, according to State Attorney General Alan Wilson’s office.

38-year-old Batesburg-Leesville resident Jake Brady Ergle was arrested on one charge related to the sexual exploitation of minors. The Lexington County Sheriff’s Department made the arrest.

The sheriff’s department along with the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force made the arrest after receiving a CyberTipline from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children saying Ergle was in possession of child sex abuse materials, according to the press release.

Ergle has been charged with one count of sexual exploitation of a minor in the third degree, which is a felony offense that is punishable by up to 10 years in prison. This case will be prosecuted by the state attorney general’s office.
