Lexington County Residents, Businesses Represent Over 5% of SC’s Top Delinquent Taxpayers

The state Department of Revenue’s July 21, 2022 report listing South Carolina’s top delinquent taxpayers shows Lexington County individuals account for 5.49% of the total due from the state’s top 250 delinquent taxpayers. County businesses listed owe 5.05% of the total due from South Carolina’s top 250 delinquent tax list businesses.

Lexington has eight individuals listed owing a combined total of $2,578,182 to the state. The total owed by the entire statewide list of 250 individuals was $46,956,054.

Lexington County has 13 businesses on the tax delinquency list, and they owe a combined total of $2,890,510. The combined statewide list totaled $57,223,297.

The Lexington County individuals listed on the Department of Revenue list and the amounts allegedly owed are:

  • Sary Mejia (112 Wagon Wheel Ct., Pelion) — $991,867.
  • Armando Bolanos (136 Shumpert Mill Rd., Pelion) — $402,397.
  • Jaime Martinez (232 Crestridge Dr., Lexington) — $253,847.
  • Michael Garytaylor (108 Tarawood Dr., West Columbia) — $226,414.
  • Robert Miller (349 Southmen Ln., West Columbia) — $209,447.
  • Timothy Evergetis (336 Sandspur Rd., Pelion) — $185,108.
  • Henry Jeffrey Lee (339 Annapolis Rd., Lexington) — $163,138.
  • Felipe Severiano (745 Wren Rd., Lexington) — $145,964.

The Lexington County businesses included on the Department of Revenue list and the amounts allegedly owed are:

  • Frayed Knot Bar & Grill LLC (1701 Dreher Island Rd., Chapin) — $702,106.
  • Wired Goat Café LLC (246 Columbia Ave., Chapin) — $133,555.
  • Belles Bar and Grill LLC (190  Culbreth Ln., West Columbia) — $106,475.
  • Deeannes (1306 Charleston Hwy., West Columbia) — $105,116.
  • DMBT LLC (1345 Old Chapin Rd., Lexington) — $135,655.
  • Specialty Concrete Products Inc (1327 Lake Dogwood Dr., West Columbia) — $112,598.
  • Cambridge Hospitality Inc. (650 Cherokee Ln., West Columbia) — $182,309.
  • Rhino Distributing Company Inc (127 Wade St., West Columbia) — $115,387.
  • Adriatic Co LLC (1659 Airport Blvd., West Columbia) — $229,608.
  • Rock Sports Bar (2308 Airport Blvd., West Columbia) — $159,406.
  • Air Fun Rentals Inc. (26 Indian Creek Trl., Lexington) — $138,579.
  • Dixiana Steel Company (P.O. Box 2537, West Columbia) — $438,599.
  • RTS3 LLC (1345 Old Chapin Rd., Lexington) — $331,117.

This year represents the two year anniversary of the SCDOR’s Top Delinquent Taxpayers Initiative, which publicly lists the state’s top 250 individual and business tax debtors, a department press release notes.

The department reports that $8.5 million was collected statewide in 2021 after top delinquent tax debts were reported online.
