Residents throughout Lexington County are collecting supplies for Samaritan Purse’s Operation Christmas Child to send to children overseas.

“Local Lexington families are transforming empty shoe boxes into gifts of hope by filling them with supplies like pencils, crayons and notebooks, alongside personal care items and fun toys,” the press release read.

The shoeboxes will then be delivered to children across the world who are in need. Samaritan’s Purse hopes to deliver enough shoeboxes for 12 million children.
