The Lexington County Sheriff’s Department reports arresting a man accused of assaulting a deputy.

Allen Michael Rish, 33, allegedly kicked and punched a deputy in the face Jan. 3 in the course of running away, according to a release.

“A deputy made contact with Rish Tuesday afternoon while patrolling on Calks Ferry Road,” Lexington County Sheriff Jay Koon is quoted. “The deputy was somewhat familiar with Rish and thought he might be wanted on active warrants.”

The release states that the deputy attempted to use his Taser after telling Rish several times to stop. Rish is accused of giving the deputy a fake name ("Jason Tazum," according to arrest warants) before trying to flee.

“Although the deputy was able to grab Rish, he kicked and punched the deputy in the face and ran away again,” Koon is quoted.

The department searched for Rish in a wide area near Ponds Branch and Calks Ferry roads the night of Jan. 3, the release states. Deputies were led to a camper on Pond Branch Road Jan. 5 by a community tip.

Rish was arrested at the camper, along with Carrie Sabrina Isenhower, 31, whom the release accuses of lying to the deputies searching for Rish.

"Isenhower was asked if Rish was inside the camper and she stated, 'I don't know i was sleeping,'" arrest warrants state. "Isenhower contiued to lie to investigators stating that she did not know if Rish was inside the camper until she finally admitted he was inside and that  he was hiding inside of the bed. She admitted that there was a gun inside a bookbag in the camper and that Rish was aware that it was there."

Rish is charged with assaulting a law enforcement officer while resisting arrest and giving false information to a law enforcement officer, along with a gun possession charge. Isenhower is charged with two counts of obstruction of justice.

Rish is being held at the Lexington County Detention Center, with bond having been denied on the charge of assaulting an officer. Isenhower, whom the detention center website lists as still being held there, had her bond set at $50,000 ($25,000 per count) and was held in contempt by the county magistrate court.
