Lexington Uno Pizzeria Closes After 19 Years in Operation

Posted

The Lexington location of Uno Pizzeria & Grill closed for good on Sunday, according to a Facebook post from the restaurant.

“Unos Lexington is closing their doors for the final time tonight,” reads a note attributed to Henry Sims, owner of the 5304 Sunset Blvd. location of the national franchise. “Thank you to all our amazing customers and wonderful staff who have passed through our doors over the last 19 years. I sincerely thank each and every one of you.”

The restaurant hasn't responded to the Chronicle's request for comment.

According to the chain’s website, the Lexington outpost was the lone location remaining in South Carolina.

Sunset Boulevard in Lexington has become crowded with pizza restaurants in the time that Uno has been open, with Knead Pizza, Ferrara Pizza & Pasta, Pizza Kovachi, Bellis House of Pizza, Mellow Mushroom, Bellacino’s Pizza & Grinders and MOD Pizza all still operating on or just off the street along a six mile stretch, along with locations of Pizza Hut, Domino’s, Marco’s and Papa Johns.
