Lioness takes over Lions Club

Melanie Matthews is Cayce-West Columbia Lions new president

She was installed as the president Tuesday. She takes over from Bill Mooneyhan. Charlene Frye of the club, read the oath.

Melanie is the head of community relations for Modern Exterminating. The Lions Club held its meeting at the Ocean View restaurant in Cayce. It was the first in-person meeting for the group since March.

West Columbia Mayor Tem Miles and Councilman Joseph Dickey, Jr. have been selected as Midlands Legal Elite 2020. Miles of The Miles Firm was chosen for business litigation and personal injury. Dickey of the Dickey Law Group was selected for education and labor and employment.

Cayce Mayor Elise Partin has been selected among Women of Influence for 2020.

She has advocated for public health, encouraging young people to run for office, as well as smart growth policies and economic development. A City of Cayce

A City of Cayce Facebook post reads: “Probably one of her greatest contributions has been her tireless work to promote our local artists, to educate folks about the rich history in our city and our Cayce Riverwalk, trails and green spaces.”

West Columbia’s Meeting Street Artisan Market is open Saturdays, 9 am – 1 pm, at the Interactive Art Park, 425 Meeting Street, under the pavilion. Vndors sell original art, crafts, foods and produce.

Shop with the vendors and interact with the unique sculptures throughout the park, and then head to State and Meeting Streets to continue shopping and dining.
