New roles for Cayce officers

Cayce Public Safety employs an outstanding group of men and women who serve their community as police and firefighters. Some have taken on new roles.

Officer Brandy Threet transferred to Community Outreach Police Services (COPS), Blake Hill transferred to detective, William “Jesse” Kaiser promoted to detective/victim’s advocate, Robert Garman promoted to detective, Jonathan Carswell promoted to School Resource Officer, Brandon Turner promoted to Corporal (Patrol Division), Roy “Drew” Barr transferred to K-9 Handler and Eddie West promoted to Corporal (COPS).

THE WEST Columbia Beautification Foundation has started its Holiday Decoration Yard of the Month competition. Submit your home decoration and win prizes.

Prizes include a $50 gift certificate to Zesto, $100 in services from Whetzels Complete Auto Service and $25 gift certificate to State Street Trading Company. For details: www.beautifywestcolumbia.org

The City of Cayce held a swearing-in ceremony for new City Councilman Tim James Oct. 6. James previously served on Cayce City Council from 2010 to 2015.
