West Columbia woman arrested on drug charge

Lexington County deputies have arrested a woman accused of trafficking meth in Gaston.

Jennifer Marie Davis, 46, is charged with trafficking meth and the possession of a firearm during a violent crime, according to arrest warrants.

“We were working with US marshals Monday to find Davis because she was wanted on a federal probation violation,” Lexington County Sheriff Jay Koon said.

“When we located her in the 200 block of Victor Road in Gaston, she was found with a glass pipe and multiple pills. She also had about 80 grams of meth among her personal belongings.”

Davis was also in possession of a handgun, according to Koon.

Deputies arrested Davis at the scene. She’s being held in the Lexington County Detention Center.

Gaston man charged with kidnapping

A Gaston man has been arrested in connection with an assault last week at a home on Treemount Lane.

Colbie Lee Whitaker, 19, is charged with kidnapping and 1st-degree burglary, according to arrest warrants.

“Based on the information detectives have gathered so far on this case, Whitaker was part of a group that broke into a home Tuesday night armed with a baseball bat and machete,” Lexington County Sheriff Jay Koon said.

“The group attacked 3 people inside the home. Whitaker held one of them at gunpoint.”

Investigators are working to identify and locate others who were involved in the break-in and assault, according to Koon.

“This was not a random crime,” Koon said. “Both sides are connected and know each other. That has helped detectives develop leads and they continue to follow up on them.”

Deputies arrested Whitaker Sunday night. He’s being held in the Lexington County Detention Center while he awaits a bond hearing.
