Hailing from all over Lexington County, business leaders, professionals and locals gathered at Seawell’s in Columbia, S.C. on July 18 to celebrate many entities that make Lexington County as great as it is.
Platinum sponsors Hands & Hearts Home Care, Michelin North America and Clark Law Office helped make the Lexington County Chronicle’s Best of Lexington 2024 event come to fruition.
DJ Stingray brought the volume and fun, the greenery around the tables were thanks to Lexington Florist, the photo booth was from Still in Motion, some of our staff’s gowns were from Tylar Rose and the wine was from Murraytown Spirits.
Greeting attendees at the entrance was an ice sculpture from Fire&Ice.
Too often, our home is viewed purely through its proximity to other places – Columbia, the University of South Carolina, Fort Jackson, etc. – and seen as a spot for people who work in those other places during the day to hang their hats during the night and weekend.
But Lexington County is much more than that. And it deserves a “Best Of” contest that keeps that in mind. One that highlights businesses and industries that operate here in the county. One that puts a spotlight on beloved neighborhood spots in towns from Swansea to Batesburg-Leesville to Chapin. One that embraces that there are more ways to have fun here than to get out on Lake Murray.
That’s the Lexington County Chronicle’s intention with the Lexington’s Best contest – to highlight the restaurants, stores, businesses, hair stylists, mechanics, cultural institutions (and on and on) that make this county special.
And it seems that our readers were equally invested in that idea this year.
