The Gaston Collard & BBQ Festival brought both of those tasty Southern specialties and other attractions as it returned to action Oct. 7. The festival included a parade that featured participants such as Lexington County Sheriff Jay Koon, along with antique cars, vendors, and live entertainment, including country outfit the Presley Aaron Band. The event also offered attractions such as carnival games and bouncy houses. And there was plenty of mouth-watering food, including barbecue plates with heaps of pork, black-eyed peas, mac and cheese, along with the unsurprisingly ample opportunities to chow down on some collards.
