Another event was back in Lexington County after two years canceled by the COVID-19 pandemic. The SC Poultry Festival went from May 12 to 14, culminating Saturday with  a parade (including Poultry Festival Distinguished Citizen who is Landis Price, funeral director at Barr-Price Funeral Home and the Batesburg-Leesville High School's ROTC and marching band), performances and demonstrations (including the Batesburg-Leesville Middle School Choir and dog-riding monkey act Team Ghostriders), rides, food and more.  In the program for this year's event, the town says its annual festival has grown from attracting about 20,000 people to more than 100,000.
