The Shamrock Parade rolled through downtown Lexington again March 11.

More than 50 floats made their way down the street, as children and adults, many dressed in the traditional green, looked on. The grand marshall for the eighth annual parade was “Our American Soldier,” embodied by more than 200 soldiers from Fort Jackson.

The Connick School of Irish Dancers also took part, as did local mascots Olly the Otter and Blowie, “director of fun” for the Lexington County Blowfish, the local baseball team that puts on the yearly parade.

O’Hara’s Public House served beer to those who were thirsty, including a green beer brewed by Lexington’s own Hazelwood Brewing Company that benefited Mission Lexington. The bar also sponsored a kids area at the Icehouse Amphitheater that was open before and after the parade.
