Pine Ridge picks new police chief

André T. Williams is Pine Ridge’s new police chief.

Williams is a native of the Jonesville community located in Colleton County.

He is a 2011 graduate of Claflin University with a BA degree in Criminal Justice and a minor in Sociology.

He served in the United States Army and Army National Guard.

In 1993, he began his career in law enforcement with the SC Department of Corrections in Allendale.

He has served as chief of police for the City of Chester, chief of security for 8 schools in the Chester County District and chief of police for Kingstree for 3 years.

He is married to TreVonda P. Williams (Hemphill) and together they share a blended family of 6: Taylor, André, Tamya, Aaden, Diamond and Calen.

They are also grandparents to David and Dailynn.

Williams was selected from a pool of candidates who were presented to the Finance Committee by De-Van and Associates.
