The start of the high school football season is now just a week away.

Dutch Fork will be the first team in action Aug. 18 as it travels to Memorial Stadium in Charlotte, N.C., to face Hough. The following night, 11 of the 15 Chronicle Country teams will open play during Week Zero. Tickets are $7 at the gate and are available now by visiting whiteknollathletics.com/event-tickets.

Over at Chapin High School, the annual Aun and McKay Classic takes place at Cecil Woolbright Field.

Like the Sportsarama, four 12-minute quarter scrimmages will take place:

- Mid-Carolina vs. Irmo 6:30 p.m.

- Spring Valley vs. Newberry 7:30 p.m.

- Gray Collegiate vs. Westwood 8:30 p.m.
