Red Bank plans live concert

Just because we’re all staying home doesn’t mean there aren’t great events happening in our area. They’ve just moved online for now.

One such event is connected to the annual Christmas At Red Bank concert. Organizers of that annual holiday tradition have put together a spring edition featuring many of the same local musicians and benefiting the same local charity, Mission Lexington’s food pantry. It is needed even more than usual right now with so many people out of work.

Sunday May 3, tune in to a Facebook Live event on the Christmas At Red Bank Facebook page at 6:30 pm. Artists include Prettier Than Matt, Tom Coolidge, Kenley Young, Matt and Becky Goudelock, Jeff Gregory of The Runout, Kenny George, Todd Mathis, Admiral Radio, and more.

Instead of Christmas tunes, they’ll each be playing some of their own original music and selected covers. Donations are encouraged during the livestream directly to Missionlexingtonsc.org/do nate.

Mentioned here recently was the online services being offered by our local churches. Lexington reth Road is doing those Church of God on Naza- but also offering “Preaching in the Parking Lot” every Sunday at 10:30 am. Pastor Mark Crumpton is delivering his message from a small stage set up social distance in their cars – like a drive-in with loudspeakers. The congregation can theater for church goers.

Remember to keep your safety and others’ safety in mind as you shop for necessi- ties. In my own travels I’ve not seen much in the way of distancing in stores or people in masks. Follow the guidelines and we will all get through this, together.

Happy birthday to Eddie Fox, Peyton Gore, Bryan McCarty, Terry Crolley, Ann Shumpert, Micki Burk, and Lonnie Winkler.

Happy anniversary to Scott and Amanda Lorick, and Bruce and Anita Kilmury.
