Fort Jackson will host its annual 5K run/walk honoring fallen soldiers and the survivors of soldiers at 8 am Sept. 14, at Hilton Field.
The annual event helps bring awareness to fallen soldiers and their sacrifices.
Fort Jackson is providing more than 500 service members to represent SC fallen soldiers. The runners will have the name of a fallen soldier who died while on active duty since Sept. 11, 2001.
The 5K Run/Walk is open and free to the public.
All runners will need to sign a waiver before the run at the registration table so plan to be on site at 7 am. Please do not bring pets-exceptions are allowed for military/police working dogs and registered service dogs.
