Awards Day at Pelion High School was celebrated May 17. Seniors were presented scholarships at this time. The Ruritan was honored to present scholarships to Charlie Allemond, Tayler Murray, Caitlin Jeffcoat, and Leia Cogdill. Congratulations to these students and best wishes for their college success.

Don’t forget to attend the Pelion Ruritan Veterans Memorial service May 27 at 10 am. With the assistance of Jesse Jeffcoat, 17 new engraved pavers have been placed. Jean Haggard assisted Kay Collings in packing sand between the new pavers after placement. Ruritan members met May 18 and did final preparation for the ceremony. Leaves were raked, new mulch placed around the monument, trees were trimmed, and bricks were cleaned. Thanks to those members who assisted with these tasks.
